Evaluation of theses (new since DD.MM.YYYY)

Click path: myCampus Home > My supervised theses

After students have submitted their thesis, the Student Services (or the Infoportal) checks the formal requirements.
You will then be notified by email as the examiner that the thesis has been received.

Using the „My supervised theses“ application, you can:

download the thesis
enter the grade
upload your review, and
complete the review.

1. Download your thesis

Open the application „My supervised theses“.
You will be taken to the “Theses - Examination” view.
In the “To be examined” tab, you will find an overview of all theses for which you have received an official review request from the examination board via Student Services (or the Infoportal).
Click on the name of the student or on the “Examine” button.

In the “Examination” view, you can take all further steps to review the previously selected student.
Click on “Publication / Full text” on the left.

In the “Theses – Submission/Publications” view, you can download the thesis as a PDF file by clicking on the “Download full text” link in the “Bibliographic information” section.
After downloading, close the window by clicking on the “X” in the upper left corner to return to the “Examination” view.

If you require an anonymized version, please contact Student Services (studierendenservice@leuphana.de).
Depending on your browser settings, the file will be saved in your download folder.
If the download does not start, please check whether a pop-up blocker is activated and deactivate it if necessary.

2. Enter grades

In the “Examination” view, scroll down to the “Assessment” section (below the „Candidate“ and „Thesis“ sections).
Select the Report grade from the drop-down menu.
Click on “Save” if you want to save your entry first.

Note on grade publication
Entering the grade does not constitute direct publication. The grades entered are first validated and published by Student Services. This means:

The grade for the written paper can be entered before the oral examination.
Only when both the written paper and the oral examination have been assessed will the grades be published together.
Your review is not visible to students.
The review can be updated again after the oral examination if necessary.

The thesis remains in the “To be examined” tab until Student Services has validated the grade.

3. Upload review

Please note the following formal requirements:

The report must include the student's name and student ID.
It must be signed by the respective reviewers.

Procedure:

In the “Assessment” section, click on “Upload report.”
Select the appropriate file.
Save the process by clicking on “Save.

Optional:

You can delete an uploaded file (and then save it again) using the trash can icon.
You can download the saved report using the download icon.

4. Complete review

After you have entered the grade and review, first click on “Save.”
Then select “Complete review” on the left.

The left sidebar may be collapsed. You can use the arrow below to display it again.

You can recognize successful completion by the status “Examination completed.”

Oral examination interview

Once the grades and reviews of the first and second reviewers for a thesis are available, an oral examination interview will be arranged if necessary.
The grades for the oral examination interview will be entered by Student Services.

Archiving

Once the examination process has been completed, the version of the thesis with your comments will be archived in accordance with the following instructions:
