When you register for an assessment in myCampus, you must select the curriculum context in which you are registering for the assessment. It is important to ensure that you register correctly.
Common sources of error are, for example:
You register for an assessment as additional credits, even though it is part of the regular curriculum of your degree programme.
You have changed your degree programme/major/minor and have already registered for an assessment for your old degree programme instead of your new one.
You are a studying multiple degree programmes and are registering for the assessment for the wrong degree programme.
In these and other cases, you might register for an incorrect curriculum context. Incorrect registration leads to subsequent problems, in particular to the assessment grade not being included in your average grade and being listed in the transcript of records as an additional achievement instead of, for example, a compulsory achievement.
If you are unsure, we therefore recommend that you check the curriculum context of your assessment registrations in myCampus.
In myCampus, all degree programmes are technically mapped according to a predefined logic. Leuphana also offers so-called combined degree programmes (German: „Mehrfachstudiengänge“). These are degree programmes that include multiple teaching subjects or a major/minor combinations.
For example, the Teaching and Learning degree programme consists of an individual combination of several teaching subjects, such as Biology and English. The „Leuphana Bachelor“ degree programme combines a major, such as Business Information Systems, with a minor such as Business Administration. All these elective options as well as the Complementary Studies and the Leuphana Semester are mapped in separate regulations and therefore constitute their own curriculum contexts.
The following drop-down elements show you what you need to bear in mind when registering for the respective curriculum contexts, how you can determine whether you are registered in the correct curriculum context and what you need to do if you make a mistake.

Registering in the correct curriculum context
Click on the „Choose degree programme“ drop-down menu in the registration screen for the assessment. You will be offered three options:
Your major, labelled with the degree objective, the name of the major and the abbreviation „MJ“
Your minor, labelled with the degree objective, the name of your minor and the abbreviation „MI“
Your overarching degree programme, labelled with the combined names of your major and minor

To register for an assessment in a module of your major or minor, select the corresponding option with MJ or MI from the drop-down menu „Choose degree programme“. Then click on the drop-down menu „Select curriculum context“. Select the appropriate option with the name of the module. Usually only one option is displayed.
If you can take a module in different areas as part of your degree programme – e.g. due to different areas of specialisation – several options may be displayed. In this case, select the option that relates to the correct area. You can recognise areas by the rectangle symbol in the structure tree.
Then click on the „Register“ button.
Example: Registering for an assessment in the Leuphana Bachelor with a Digital Media major and a Digital Business minor
The examination is a compulsory module of the Digital Media major, therefore the curriculum context of the major must be selected:
Registering for the Leuphana Semester or Complementary Studies or registering for additional credits
Registering for the Leuphana Semester or Complementary Studies or registering for additional credits
To register for an examination in the Leuphana Semester, in the Complementary Studies or as additional credits, select your overarching degree programme, labelled with the combined names of your major and minor, from the „Choose degree programme“ drop-down menu. Then click on the drop-down menu „Select curriculum context“. Several options are usually displayed. Then select the option that relates to the correct area. You can recognise areas by the rectangle symbol in the structure tree.
Only select the option in the „Additional credits“ area if you wish to take the assessment as additional credits and not as part of the Leuphana Semester, Complementary Studies or your major or minor!
Then click on the „Register“ button.

If you realise that you are registered in the wrong curriculum context, please correct this yourself during the registration phase!
Firstly, cancel your registration for the assessment date. Then register again with the correct curriculum context.

The assessment is a compulsory module in the teaching subject German. The module cannot be taken in another subject area. Therefore, only the curriculum context of the teaching subject German can be selected:
Registering in a non-subject-specific area (e.g. area of professionalisation), in the Leuphana Semester or Complementary Studies, or registering for additional credits

To register for an assessment in an area not specific to a teaching subject (e.g. area of professionalisation), in the Leuphana Semester, in Complementary Studies or as additional credits, select your overarching degree programme, which is labelled with the combined names of your first and second teaching subject, from the „Choose degree programme“ drop-down menu. Then click on the drop-down menu „Select curriculum context“. Several options are usually displayed. Then select the option that relates to the correct area. You can recognise areas by the rectangle symbol in the structure tree.
